15km, 600m gain, 2hours
At the 5km mark we reach the top of the waterfall - a good place to have a drink before 4km of work leading up to the descent and a good way to avoid carrying bottles. Road shoes are absolutely fine on this loop, but trail shoes always preferred if you have them.
We will regroup at 5km for water from the waterfall, and then again at 9km which is the main view point before the descent into town. The first 6.8km of this loop is where 90% of the 600m of climbing sits so pace yourself and run to what is comfortable for you. Enjoy the climb and take in the views off the ridge to get your mind off your heart rate.
