15km, 700m gain, 2hours
Rainforest run with almost the entire run in the shade and taps at the top of the main climbs make this a great run that needs no gear. Trail shoes will help a lot in the boggy sections, but plenty of people have run these trails in road shoes - they will just go brown. Try to wear something reasonably stable as there are some root sections that will test your ankles.
The first regroup and drink spot is at 5km and is the top of the second climb (three climbs total). There is another opportunity to drink from a stream at 10km (top of climb 3) but it does depend on recent rains as to whether there is enough flow to make it safe. This spot at 10km is the iconic Sherbrooke Falls and depending on crowds is the main view point of the loop.

I strongly urge everyone to download and put the route on their watch. It is an important skill set to be able to navigate by yourself on your own trail runs - and to be honest getting lost at some stage is a guarantee
