21km, 750m gain, 3hours
This loop is nearly always entirely wet and muddy. Lots of loose leaf litter, clay, loose rocks. Strongly recommend trail shoes for this but run with what you got. There are no water stops on this loop so if you have a soft flask or a hand held I'd bring it - 500ml will do the trick. 1 or 2 gels wouldn't go astray either as we will be out there for 3 hours.
No water on this run but there is a toilet at a touch before 11km. We will regroup at the top of the first climb 1km in - the main lookout and a good way to warm up as this run is typically quite cold (starting at 1000m elevation). Then it is all down hill until 6km where we will regroup for the climb up to the toilet at 11km. Then another long descent to 15km before climbing back to the car.
